Here are some comments about the exclusive trailer

of The Wolfman that was premiered at the

San Diego Comic Con this weekend:

Peter Sciretta / SlashFilm

I was instantly absorbed into the footage.

Rick Baker's Wolfman looked incredibly cool...

I also loved the cinematography of the backlit night shots.

Quint / Ain't It Cool News

We only saw the wolf face once when he’s leaning in

on another character, teeth bared. It was dark, but...

it’s great to see practical effects work like that.

Rebecca Murray / Hollywood Movies

Amazing trailer.

Ryan Rotten / ShockTillYouDrop

...the first teaser trailer... looks INCREDIBLE.

I love this thing and I hope you all get to see it soon online.

Russ Fischer / Chud.com

...this looks like the most classic among all the

horror remakes/reboots we've seen in the past decade.

Daniel Fienberg / Zap2it

The clips suggested that [the] film remains very true

to the look and feel of the classic Universal horror films...

Edgar Arce / Latino Review

The trailer for The Wolfman looks incredible!!

It has a very authentic look to it in terms of

keeping true to the period it takes place in!

The makeup looks awesome, and it doesn't look

like they strayed from the original.

The images they showed were great.

Michael Dayspring / IESB

...it looks spectacular.

Vic Holtereman / Screen Rant

Saw the first footage from The Wolfman and was

(along with the audience) very impressed.

Erik David / Cinematical

The Wolfman trailer rocked my socks off.

A recent article on Blic Online mentioned that

Benicio jokingly said that he did not need much

make-up for his role in The Wolfman, since he looks

like a monster in any case, but Rick Baker, the famous

make-up artist, explains that Benicio had to be very

patient, because putting the mask and make-up lasted

between three and five hours, while it took about

an hour to remove it.

Here's an excerpt of a recent article

in which Peruvian actor Christian Esquivel

talked about working in Guerrilla:

How were you chosen to participate in Guerrilla?

Through my agent. We were looking to get me

another role, a Peruvian one, 'El Chino', who was

part of the entourage of 'Che', but Soderbergh

chose me to be Teran, because I very much

resemble the real life person. He was a young

Sergeant, who was chosen to kill [Che].

I've seen pictures of him when he was young and,

of course, we are the spitting image of each other.

Teran lives in the U.S., but he doesn't want to

know about the subject.

Have you felt empathy with the character you played?

He appears in the last four scenes of the film,

but the character is crucial. Teran is offered

to kill Che, because he was said to have killed

three men from his team. He is determined.

But, in truth, Teran had doubts. Che is alone

in a hut, he then stands up and says:

"Shoot coward, you are only going to kill a man."

What all must have gone through the mind of this person,

because Che was almost already a legendary figure then.

How was your relationship with Soderbergh?

He is an incredible director, he does everything himself,

he doesn't delegate. He directs, handles the camera, edits,

by unloading all night and assembling the scenes.

He directed me with the help of a translator.

For the last scene, which is about firing two shots

at the target [Che], we were only Benicio, Soderbergh

and myself. The translator told me: "It is not that you're

going to kill just anyone. You are going to kill a myth."

 Soderbergh gives me precise instructions.

Then, when shot, Benicio falls to the floor

and Soderbergh falls with him, with the camera in hand.

So everything looks as if you were watching Che,

"Dogma 95" style. He is a very serious director,

he rarely smiles. When at work, he is totally concentrated.

And how was it to be dealing with Benicio del Toro?

Benicio arrived in his Mercedes car, went straight

to his dressing room and stayed there almost

all the time. The rest of the actors, we used to spend

the spare time in a tent, where the catering was.

There were two very intersting moments, that say a lot

about his personality. The first one occured when we were

filming and came to the aiming part. Benicio had already

done his solo scene. Then it was my turn to play my part,

which I was going to do alone, because this is an edited

scene. Benicio did not have to be there, but he stayed,

and he told me: "I am going to be quiet." To give me courage

to give more for that scene, he begins to throw profanities

at me, such as "idiot, bastard, faggot," so that I build up

anger right at the scene. At the end, he approached me and

told me: "Very good," while he gave me a pat on the shoulder.

At what point did you take a photo

in which you are both looking at the camera?

One day we were about fifteen actors during

a coffee break. Benicio suddenly comes and

says: "Hello, how's it going?", grabs a banana

and starts to eat. Nobody dares to say anything,

until one of the Cuban actors starts talking:

"Hey, brother" and unleashes a moment of

incredible camaraderie. I am surprised to see him

there and I say: "Hey, can I take a photo with you,

yes or yes?." I took my camera in my dressing room

and I told him: "I am playing the character who kills Che.

Pleased to meet you, I am Peruvian, I love your work."

He says to me: "How nice, pleased to meet you.

What part of Peru are you from?" I said that I'm from Trujillo,

and he replied: "Ah, I do not know it, but I want to go there."

I asked for the photo and got access to him without any

problems. It was superb, and that's where you discover

that he is actually not a male diva, but that he went to stay

in his dressing room because he had to study, and not

because he is bigheaded. The whole world says the same

thing about him. What a kind guy, what an "actor's actor",

how cordial, how easygoing.

About his participation, Mr. Esquivel said:

Guerrilla is one of the films that every actor would like

to be part of. Being next to someone of the stature of

Benicio del Toro and Soderbergh as a director has been

a luxury. I would have liked to have had more scenes,

but it was worth it."

About the scene in which his character kills Che,

Mr. Esquivel stated that "despite the fact that

there was no need for Benicio to be present at

the time of that shooting, in a gesture that enhanced

everything, and he was on the opposite side of the plane,

so that I could get inspiration for this

significant moment in history."

"I learned a lot from that filming. It was a short time,

but a lot of experience. It was filmed in a village

in Toledo, and Benicio behaved like a great person,

mingled with the cast and although the director is

a discreet man, it was a pleasure to work alongside

them," says Esquivel, who will soon get to see the film,

on September 3, when it premieres in Spain.
