Benicio del Toro escuchó los reclamos de una comunidad amenazada por el desarrollo turístico.

El actor Benicio del Toro visitó el Centro Cultural de Piñones a media tarde de hoy para participar en la actividad “Puente Cultural de África a Piñones”, en la que además pudo constatar de primera mano los reclamos que hacen los vecinos del sector en momentos en que la comunidad se ve amenazada por el desarrollo de un complejo turístico.

Del Toro, quien la semana pasada envió una carta abierta al gobernador Aníbal Acevedo Vilá exhortándolo a detener el proyecto, compartió con los asistentes por alrededor de una hora.

A preguntas de la prensa, el ganador de un Oscar por la película “Traffic”, dijo que espera poder reunirse con el Gobernador para conversar sobre el tema.

Ambos coincidieron en la mañana durante la liberación de 22 cotorras puertorriqueñas en Utuado. “Yo estoy de vacaciones y él está trabajando”, dijo Del Toro, antes de añadir que espera que la oportunidad surja mientras él está en la Isla.

Benicio of the Toro listened to the reclamations of a community threatened by the tourism development.

Actor Benicio del Toro visited the Cultural Center of Piñones at mid afternoon of today to participate in the activity "Cultural Bridge from Africa to Piñones", in which in addition he could state first hand the reclamations that the neighbors do of the sector at moments at which the community itself is threatened by the development of a tourist complex.

Del Toro, who the last week sent an open letter to governor Aníbal Acevedo Vilá exhorting him to stop the project, he shared with the assistants about one hour.
